Nigeria: 11 dead in stampede at an election rally

Eleven people were killed and 29 injured on Saturday in Nigeria in a stampede during a campaign rally of President Goodluck Jonathan in the Niger Delta region (southeastern), police said.

The stampede was “caused by a crowd” and caused “the death of 11 persons and caused injuries to about 29 other” in the city of Port Harcourt, said in a statement.
