Ten years after the attacks of Sept. 11, Americans united behind two of their presidents, on Sunday commemorate a tragedy never forgotten that their country has changed. 

In a New York City where security was reinforced because of a threat “unsubstantiated” an attack by Al Qaeda, President Obama must attend in the morning, with his predecessor George W. Bush, in a ceremony in memory of some 3,000 people killed in the attacks.

The ceremony takes place as every year near the site in full rebuild “ground zero” in the presence of families. For the first time, it will run as the leader of Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, is dead, killed by U.S. commandos on May 2.
