Google launches its consumer online storage Google Drive

Google on Tuesday launched its much needed service to the public online storage “Google Drive”, an outsourced computer system (“cloud”) that can also collaborate and share files online.

Internet users are entitled to 5 gigabytes of free storage, and can buy more capacity, at prices varying by country and capacity – the maximum U.S. $ 799 per month up to 16 terabytes, that is to say 16,000 gigabytes. The packages also include a professional support service available 24 hours 24.

The software to access Google Drive is designed for computers running Windows (operating system from Microsoft) or those from Apple, and mobile devices running Android (Google OS).

A version for Apple’s portable devices (IOS system for iPod, iPhone and iPad) is forthcoming.

Piracy: 300,000 Internet users could be deprived of connection in July

The U.S. federal police warned on Monday that about 300,000 Internet users across the world might be deprived of connection starting in July, after the expiration of a temporary security system set up in response to a network of hackers.

The FBI encourages users to connect as soon as possible on the site www.dcwg.org to whether or not they have been infected by a network of hackers who had been dismantled in November 2011, told the AFP spokesman of the Federal Police, Jenny Shearer.

The FBI estimates that up to 568,000 computers were infected by software installed by hackers.

This software reprogrammed their computers and redirecting unwitting users to fraudulent sites, on which users landed after typing a regular address.
