The information revealed Tuesday by the daily La Stampa, denies that Callas committed suicide after the gradual loss of his voice following a romantic disappointment in his relationship with the eccentric billionaire Greek Aristóteles Onassis, who left in 1968 to marry Jacqueline Kennedy.
The pathologists studied with instruments ultra modern recordings of the singer in the ’50s, his most complete, in the 60s when she began having problems, and in the 70s, marked by a sudden loss of weight and alteration of his voice.
