Diets are not safe, warns the agency of safety

Weight loss diets, rich in protein such as diet or Dukan Fricker or low-carb diets like Atkins and Cohen, are far from being safe, according to the Agency of food safety, environment and labor ( handles).
On the basis of expert scientists, the agency has screened 15 plans: Atkins, California, lemon detox, chrononutrition, Cohen, Dukan, Fricker, Mayo, Montignac diet of cabbage soup, Weight Watchers …
In a report published Thursday, she assesses imbalances-important-they result in macronutrients (fats, carbohydrates, proteins), vitamins and minerals.
Thus, for more than 80% of plans, the protein intakes are above the recommended dietary allowances (ANC) and even much higher as in the Dukan schemes, which make their mark. Several (Zone Chrononut, Atkins …) offer fat intake above the upper range of the ANC. Intakes of fiber systems are in 3 of 4 lower than the ANC, and sometimes almost ten times lower, as in the first two phases of schemes Dukan.
For women, the RDA of iron are very seldom met. Several schemes (Mayo, Montignac Phase 2, 3 … Fricker) does not cover requirements for calcium, while in two phases Dukan inputs are 2 times higher than the ANC. The Dukan diet provides a more than 2 times the maximum recommended sodium.
The vitamin C is often too low, particularly for plans Dukan and Fricker, as well as vitamin D, except for plans Dukan 2 and 3, where it is four times higher than the recommendations.
The agency has also established the risks that these schemes were run to health. She cites the loss of bone mineral density and fracture risk, and the reduction in polyunsaturated fatty acids “essential”, the risk of gallstones with very low calorie diets, and colorectal cancer with diets low in complex carbohydrates and fiber.
The safety of low carbohydrate diets rich in fats and proteins is not established on the cardio-vascular.
In total, “the search for weight loss without medical indication formal risky, especially when use is made of unbalanced eating habits and lack diversity,” said the handles. For her, “there is no substitute in terms of a balanced diet healthy, diverse.”
