Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia

Asia is largest continent with an area of  17,139,445 square miles or you can say 44,391,162 square km. There are several countries about which people do not have enough knowledge. Here, I am about to start with one of such country, Kyrgyzstan which is a beautiful nation in the central Asia. If you are wondering where it lies in the central Asia then here is the map for your reference.

Kyrgyzstan is in pink color in the north west of China. Kyrgyzstan is surrounded by Tajikistan in south, Uzbekistan in east and Kazakhstan in south and China in its east. Kyrgyzstan is landlocked country with most of mountainous land.

Kyrgyzstan covers around 198 500 sq km i.e. 77 181 sq. mi. having mountainous land with  Tien Shan mountain range covering approximately 95% and there are also  some desert regions in the country. Kyrgyzstan is commonly known with name Kyrgyz Republic.

Talking about climate of the country, Kyrgyzstan has extremely diverse climate due to its large mountainous landscape. You will find dry continental to polar in the high Tien Shan while subtropical in the southwest Fergana Valley where summers are very hot. Kyrgyzstan receives very heavy snowfall during the winter season and temperature goes too down, in some reasons around 7°F to -4°F  i.e. -14°C to -20°C.

Kyrgyzstan was part of USSR till 1991 and got independence on 31 August, 1991. Constitution was adopted on 5 May, 1993. Around half of the population is formed by Kyrgyz people while other major Ethnic groups consists of Russian 18%, Uzbek 12.9%, Ukrainian 2.5%, German 2.4%, and people from other ethnic group around 11.8%. Around 75% of the population of the country follows the teaching of Islam while 20% of population is following Russian Orthodox, and rest of 5% population is practicing different religions.
